À La Cart Takes the Reins at New Pocket Park
Last updated on July 14, 2025
Earlier this week, City Council approved À La Cart to oversee downtown Orlando’s newest park located at the corner of Orange Avenue and Robinson Street - Art². Once open this fall, this innovative public space will feature flexible outdoor seating, rotating food vendors, a craft beverage station, and a vibrant lineup of community programming designed to inspire creativity and connection.
Funded by the City of Orlando's Community Redevelopment Agency, Art² is designed to celebrate Orlando’s vibrant artistic talent and support our vision of being “An Awesome Outdoor City.” The park is part of the ongoing transformation of downtown’s core corridors, as outlined in the DTO Action Plan.
As part of this creative space, a new mural will also be introduced - adding another layer of public art to downtown. Titled "Urban Mirage 1" and created by artist Sitki Dogan, the mural celebrates the City of Orlando and reflects the creative and community-driven spirit of Art². The piece blends vibrant cubist shapes and tropical color palettes with realistic elements from Florida’s natural environment.
A perspective-based scene inspired by an actual photograph of downtown Orlando anchors the mural’s visual depth, drawing viewers into a dimensional experience. Local icons like swans and paddleboats on the lake add interactivity and cultural context. Through vivid geometric forms, 3D illusion, shadows, and color gradients, the mural transforms the wall into a visual portal, inviting visitors to engage, explore, and share their experience, while reinforcing the dynamic relationship between urban form, nature, and public art.
Stay tuned for updates on the artist and unveiling details!
